Guiseley Infant and Nursery Parents Group
The Guiseley Infant and Nursery Parent's Group consists of parents of the children in School, a teacher's representative as well as members of the Eye Spy Club. We meet every couple of months to arrange fundraising events for the school. Our 'informal' meettings usually take place in the School Library on Tuesday evenings and last just over an hour. We also have social events throughout the year.
Our main fundraising event of the year is the Christmas Fair which takes place at the end of November. The event always proves popular with the children, especially Santa's Grotto. From this event alone we usually raise over £2,000!
In the past we have also organised balloon races, car boot sales, school discos, uniform sales, Easter egg competitions and many many more. This year our balloon race raised over £500.
We are in the process of ensuring every classroom in the school has an interactive whiteboard which cost over £2,500 each. We have raised enough for 5 classrooms so far to have a board. Only 2 more classrooms to go! The boards are a fantastic way of learning interactively for the children.
The group always welcomes new faces and new ideas. Members of the group usually leave when their child moves onto Junior School so we are always keen to recruit new people on board. We would value anyone who is able to attend the meetings and be a part of the committee. Also anyone who is able to spare any time to help at events or offer suggestions at any time would be welcome.
Please come along and see for yourself. It's a fantastic way of meeting new people and raising money for your child's school at the same time.
