Dear Parents / Carers

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused to disabled drivers and pedestrians by the locking of the gates into the staff car park.

It is unfortunate that some thoughtless drivers continue to ignore signs and drive into the staff parking area at ‘drop off’ and ‘pick up’ times. This is not only causing congestion, lack of access for vans and disabled drivers but, more importantly, is a real hazard to our small children. An accident waiting to happen!

The safety of our children is always paramount and comes before any ‘inconvenience’ to a few parents who are unwilling to walk a short distance into school.

I do hope all parents / carers will work with us on this to ensure the safety of all our children.

Tuesday 22 November - the message below has been sent to parents today.....

Dear Parents / Carers

You may be aware from the media that all public sector unions including teachers, school leadership and support staff (caretaking, kitchen, teaching assistants etc) are intending to take industrial action on Wednesday 30th November 2011.

If the strike goes ahead, due to the high numbers of staff involved, I will have no alternative but to close the school on 30th November. Obviously if the strike is cancelled, school will be open as normal for all the pupils.

As soon as the strike action is confirmed, I will let parents know.

Individual Data Collection Sheets have been sent home with children today. It is VERY IMPORTANT that the information is checked and any amendments written on the sheet. The sheet then needs signing and dating and returning to school by Wednesday 14 September. This is the only contact information we hold for you child so it MUST be accurate and correct.
